A memoir of a young dreamer in New York City. The lighting begins in the idealized world that is captured in tourist photos and first memories: the coziness of exposed lightbulbs and ravishing skyline sunsets. Being then let down with hopeless love, regret, and fear, the gritty world of New York is unveiled through dark alleys and glaring fluorescents. The hanging bulbs do not glow no more, rather shine hollow, reminiscent of the young dreamer's past dreams. Unable to bear the the grunginess of New York pawing at her every footstep, she decides to leave the once greatest city in the world.
